I can see why someone who sees his situation as too far from having a place on the world stage, but it would be disingenuous for famous leftists to take the same position, which they don't usually.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30603050.post-1467425932115986322009-01-08T17:42:00.000-05:002009-01-08T17:42:00.000-05:00I’ve been considering for years "why does 9/11 mat...I’ve been considering for years "why does 9/11 matter to a working man in Vancouver, BC", other than for some higher level justice that in the name of humanity must be explained.

The U.S. and the Middle Eastern countries have been throwing jabs at each other for decades. All is fair in love and war, and I don’t think anyone with a discerning mind can argue that either side will admit to their scheming. That’s how fights go. Is anyone surprised by that?

I appreciate the writer "Elias Davidsson" addressing these items, but I would like to reply to him. I wish to find and understand the reasoning for the controversy surrounding that day.

But please allow me to address your points.

Your first point states that the victims are entitled to honest, open, and transparent disclosure. But I am not a victim of this crime, to the extent that I am entitled some form of compensation. There may well be unforeseen costs to me due to the outcomes of it (passport requirements for travel, additional security expenses for public events resulting in higher taxation), but as far as a direct cost from those 911 events, there was no damage to me or my situation.

Your second point discusses the higher moral point of justice that someone must be held accountable. The expectation of this crime, at the level that these crimes were committed, will never be solved. These are world leaders slugging at each other, and they can arrange things to fulfill their objectives, and all of us know that we do irrational things in a fight. Will someone be held accountable? Perhaps. Our government tells us that someone has (the radical Islam side), but we question the answer with legitimate argument and evidence. Does it matter? Really? And to whom?

Your third point has merit. I have been inconvenienced by the events of 911 in travel situations. I am Canadian, and I enjoy motorcycling in the States, except for the fact I can’t bring a little doobie with me. But I do enjoy the U.S. I love the people. But, I agree that the U.S. is a major world power, and I am very grateful to be Canadian, as I totally disagree with their policies. But they have been in a fight with the muslim nations for years, and now it’s getting serious. Do I object when the airline asks me to remove my shoes? It’s a hassle, but it’s alright - in the sake of safety. Do I think the Middle Eastern innocent man has his rights violated due to increased scrutiny of his personhood, absolutely. That I cannot answer. There has been an atmosphere of mistrust between the public and the authorities.

Your fourth point that 9/11 justified the beginning of a war is blatently obvious. I remember exactly where I was when I saw the second tower drop on the television. Fucking rights that’ll start a war. But does it matter who did it? Does it matter if it was the radical Muslim extremists? Does it matter if it was the U.S. Government? We could go further to ask "Does it matter if it’s the Illuminati getting control of world oil"? Could it be the Mayan calendar/Christian Bible progression of the end times? What control have we the average citizen have of those things? These two powers have been jabbing at each other for decades - and now it’s getting serious. Is this a manufactured war? What other kind is there - war is war.

My mother is an old croatian woman, and she was in her late teen years when Hitler invaded. And listening to her experience, war’s begin because powerful men with armies piss each other off, and they get mixing it up.

This Afghanistan thing and the Iraq thing should be no surprise to anyone - the events that led to it may well have been manufactured, but nontheless, is anyone surprised?

Your fifth point of the propaganda to support 9/11 ties to my last point. Are you surprised? This is what powerful nations do when there are fights. History has shown this over and over.

The sixth point I must agree with. It has enabled increased and unconstitutional invasions on our persons. Is there a larger purpose for this (the slippery slope thing)? Could well be.

I’ll not debate the seventh point as I am in agreement.

My take on it all is that the U.S. and the middle east have been jabbing at each other for decades. The whole 9/11 controversy is a moral seek for clear answers.

But a few things are glaringly obvious:

1. The eastern society isn’t too pleased with the western society, and we aren’t too fond of them either.
2. A war was started, and the jabs are getting serious.

What I must recognize is that war has begun, and military’s are getting engaged. I asked my mother once "if war comes, and they come calling on me, do I fight or do I run?". She replied "you pack up your truck, take all the necessary survival items you need, take who is dear to you, and go hide for a while". Her whole family was turned upside down due to war. Her only siblings both dead and her father missing for 30 years. She moved to Canada because that was where her father was, and she eventually sent for her mother and patriated her to Canada.

War is coming people, and the 9/11 events are just a progression of it. Prepare yourself. Peace begins in our hearts, but recognize, there will be a time coming that will require you to fight or run.

Does 9/11 matter? Absolutely. But does the blame for the action matter? I think not. War is coming to all of us, sooner or later - be prepared how you will respond.

Replies to: leblanc_greg@hotmail.com

Gregory LeBlanc
Vancouver, BCAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
