Glenn Greenwald interviews Snowden: Fw: Wow..You.got to watch and listen to this guy who blew the whistle on NSA

BJ sent me the  link below  to the Guardian report on an extraordinary new whistleblower.
I can only repeat what BJ said: You've got to watch this, and marvel -- at so many things.
The link is to  a 12 minute video interview plus a 450 word  commentary by the amazing Glenn Greenwald.
For more check out Democracy Now last week and for sure this coming  week.
In the interview, Snowden says his biggest fear out of this whole thing is that nothing will change.
As of now, it seems his fear is  likely to be realized and, as he says in the interview,
if that happens,  the monster will grow and grow and grow.

Hi Ron
Thanks
Do you think Ron ANY Democratic President have done this? in this age Or was Barack Obama chosen for the task--of completing Bush works. For God's sakes I hope the liberals will stop saying Obama WANTS US to force him to do the right thing..
He and Bush have gone beyond Nixon. First they destroy habeus corpus. Now they gone after
privacy, free speech. When you think of the idealism of these men in CIA (I heardThomas Crane speak this past Saturday) who really thought US intelligence and military was defending democracy it stands in stark contrast to Obama
who clearly has NO values. In 2008 (and again in 2012) he said what he needed to say to get elected. He meant none of it. Obama is at best a cynical opportunist who seeks only his own advancement unlike the people whose lives he seeks to destroy who deeply believe in the values of the founders.

We now have 2 courageous whisleblowers--including Manning--- and one bold journalist, Assange. But Snowden knows now the extext to which the Government will go to destroy him.If he doesn't leave he also could spend his life in prison. Before Obama took office was it conceivable that any Democrat in the post-McCarthy era would act with such blatant and overt indifference to our Constitutional rights?. Not since Nixon has a President acted with such relentless determination to destroy the basis of free speech in America. While liberals continue to make excuses in hindsight Obama will be viewed as an even more
autocratic President than George W Bush. Snowden is hiding out in Hong Kong planning to seek political asylum from America which Bush/Obama have transformed with help from Congress into a dictatorship like the Soviet Union. Considering the extent of intelligence we could now aptly be termed the United States of Stasni.. Snowden has had "a very comfortable life" that included a salary of roughly $200,000, a girlfriend with whom he shared a home in Hawaii, a stable career, and a family he loves. "I'm willing to sacrifice all of that because I can't in good conscience allow the US government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they're secretly building."

Thanks Ronald. The Guardian newspaper has 9 pages devoted to this today. The UK Foreign Secretary is giving an emergency statement in Westminster this afternoon. But nothing will change, except the guy will be hunted down and jailed for a long time.

Hi Ronald,

Snowden is certainly a darling. Thank you. I also found your website very informative.

B.t.w. you might be interested in my new book, just released in the U.S., on 9/11:
"Hijacking America's Mind on 9/11" (Algora Publishers, 2013). You can get it at Amazon.
