The Right to Life – A Poem

Is it cruel to look away from the harm you’re doing?

A 42 year old woman

3 Kids

Divorced

Single parent

Sometimes a boyfriend to help out.

Her youngest is 8

Oldest is 13

One is a girl

She’s doing well in school.

Not the others.

Mom works two jobs.

The oldest helps  -- almost a second parent

An accident.

Is it cruel to look away from the harm you’re doing?

Is it about a human life?

Or is it about the lives of four people

And all the people they touch?

Is it cruel?
